We were commissioned to design the ‘Third Sound Press’ visual identity as well as the first book released through the company. The book is a collection of essays about the work of Anglo- Canadian artists ‘The KIT Collaboration & Robert Saucier’. It includes essay’s by the likes of Steve Goodman (aka Kode9) and performance artist Geneviève Letarte, is in French and English throughout and features a bespoke DVD mounting system inside the back cover.
For the ‘Third Sound Press’ visual identity we wanted to create a device which could be used comfortably on book spines—in other words, long and thin. The marque we created to achieve this is based on the three octaves of a keyboard. When crunched down this arrangement forms a more abstract pattern.
