“A little charmer with a skinny neighbour” is a luxury coffee table book created in collaboration with Mark Atherley celebrating property developer Nikal’s purchase and restoration of one of Manchester’s oldest and most iconic buildings, Mynshull’s House, for their new offices. The name “A little charmer with a skinny neighbour” is in recognition of Mynshull’s house and it’s proximity to the equally as iconic Brittanic Buildings which sit alongside it.
The book details the history of these building’s and the surrounding area through a series of interesting stories and facts collated by copy writer and local Manchester historian Jonathon Schofield. The brilliant Manchester photographer, Jan Chlebik was commissioned to document surrounding areas of interest, including Manchester Cathedral, The Royal Exchange and Chethams Library and also to record the progress of the buildings restoration. Jan’s unique, abstract photographic style has meant that we have captured some unusual but truly iconic imagery of one of Manchester’s most unusual but iconic buildings.
